UConn- the juggernaut of women’s college Basketball

If a person has never seen the UConn women play in person than they do not know what they are missing. Coach Gene Auromia won his tenth that’s right tenth national championship and the pedigree of talent he had was sure amazing. With the ball handling of Mriah Jefferson a 5″7 point DSC_0364guard from Texas she was constantly putting pressure on the Notre Dame defense whoever attempted to guard her.   Her enforcers were three time National champion Breanna Stewart from North Syracuse NY and Kaleena Mosqueda Lewis from Ahaheim Hills California. Kaleena shooting touch was extremely fluid and she showed the nation on the big stage why she is an UConn Huskie. To play for UConn is a enormous accomplishment within itself. Coach Gne Aurmona has reached as far as Canada to land sharp shooter Kia Nurse who strives to become an Olympian in basketball, right now she is only a freshman and time is on her side to maybe accomplish that goal, in the mean time Kia has one national championship while her coach has ten. Notre Dame specialist Crown Jewell Loyd could not get into her usual rhythm but Briana Turner a freshman from TExas showed Irish fans they will have a legit one-two punch again next year. Notre Dame Head Coach Muffet McGraw was not satisfied with her teams play but did not take anything away from the Huskies noting they were the better team in Tampa. Notre Dame being a school of excellence returns more than 80percent of their team and look to be right back in the hunt next year. As of right now however theDSC_0357 juggernaut of women’s college Basketball are the UConn Huskies who reign supreme again and as long as coach Aurmeoma is their only figures to get stronger. However on the campus of South Bend there is a basketball team working relentlessly to capture the grand prize of women’s basketball and right now for the second consecutive year one team has denied Notre Dame that feeling of joy and delightfulness that one team is the UConn Huskies.
