The Miami Meltdown show

BLACKSBURG, Va. — 3 in a row is normally a good thing but not for the University of Miami football. The team is struggling and may already be looking at what is to come next year.

Brad Kaaya ended his night with a respectable 323 yards and 2 touchdowns. The Hurricanes are coming of a one point lost to rival FSU. In that game Miami scored on their last drive and was trying to push overtime. The next one was a 20-13 lost to The University of North Carolina . On their last drive Malik Carney forced a fumble on a Brad Kaaya sack. Although the score was 37-16 Miami was only down 16-9 at the half.  In the 3rd quarter Virginia Tech’s Jerod Evans connected with Bucky Hodges again for their second touchdown on the day.

Jerod Evans ended his night with 259 yards in the air for 2 touchdowns plus 98 yards on the ground and a touchdown.

Bucky Hodges ended with 7 catches , 66 yards and 2 touchdowns.

30165054831_3b889cb5e4_zThe Hurricanes responded  back with a touchdown. The offense drove the ball 75 yards on 7 plays.  A key play on the drive is when  Brad Kaaya with Ahmmon Richards for 28 yards on 3rd and 10.

Score Vtech 23 – Miami 16

The Hokies came right back and scored another touchdown. Using a balanced attack of short runs and passes to wear down the defense. Their key play that saved the drive was when Jerod

Evans connected with Bucky Hodges for 11 yards on 3rd and 9 at the 50. With the score 30 to 16 in favor of Virginia Tech the game was becoming out of reach.  This game I believe came down to

the the lack of a running game by Miami. Almost 100 yards on the ground is not going to cut it.

Next up  for Miami is the struggling Notre Dame Fighting Irish. They should get this win  which will help them get closer to being bowl eligible but this season is over.
