Our Progression

Between Classes MagazineThank you for stopping by to see what we have been up to. The first thing you will notice about us is that our passion and love for media can not be matched. We started started Between Classes Magazine in the summer of 2013 at the 2nd annual Hillsborough Community  College volleyball alumni match. At the time we did not know how strong the college volleyball teams in the Tampa Bay area were, but we learned quickly. The Lady Hawks of HCC  finish 41-5 and with a conference championship, district championship, state championship, and a 3rd place finish in the nation.  The University of Tampa volleyball closes out the season as the No. 2 team in the nation in the last 2013 installment of the AVCA Division II coaches poll.  The Spartans concluded their season 32-2 and advanced to the NCAA D-II Quarterfinals before being eliminated by 2013 national champion Concordia, St. Paul.

The next thing we wanted to do was showcase activities students were doing around campus. At the University of South Florida students were swing dancing , hosting Miss International and enjoying powerful lecture series.  At this point we were starting to get noticed by the students as a resource to help get their events  gain exposure.  We started a sport show October with host Quinne Lowe and Antwan Jackson. They talked sports, sports and more sports. On the press credential side we were at Black Brown College Bound (Magic Johnson) , USF football, USF basketball, UT volleyball, HCC volleyball, USF track, Sunshine State Conference basketball, Shrine bowl, NCAA DII basketball first round, NCAA basketball and NCAA East qualifier track. We were denied every college football bowl game, Senior bowl and Orlando Classic basketball, Meac/Swac Challenge. We knew we had work to do but we were up for the challenge. Overall we had a great first year!!

(orlandoix.com) We got a chance to hear how Call of Duty started from co -founder Chance Glasco and what he is working on now! (DogHead SimulationsOur football cover started started Labor day weekend in Alabama with Auburn 41-7 over Georgia Southern and Alabama State 14-6 over Tuskegee. At the time we did not thing Auburn would be as good as they were. They knocked off Alabama and Georgia when both we highly ranked. We got a chance to see FamU play Tennessee State in the Tampa Classic. It was not as good as the old BCU vs Famu but it will work for now. We also got a chance to see USF and UCF have outstanding seasons. UCF knights ended undefeated with a final win over Auburn 34-27. Another great event we were able to cover was the Advocare Classic. The winner West Virginia Mountaineers capped their season with a lost in the NCAA sweet 16. Last big event was Starting a Track and Field inspired site due to the NCAA East Qualifier was host in Tampa , Florida by USF. We hope you like it! http://tampatoeugene.com/
