Miami Hurricanes 2017 Spring Football Outlook…

Story by -Yousaf Khan

Year 2 of spring practice under Univeristy of Miami Head Coach Mark Richt started on March 13th and will conclude with a final 30006882543_6e086ae3e7_zpractice on April 22nd. Hurricane fans planning to attend the annual spring game will be disappointed that one won’t be held this year as renovations are ongoing at Hard Rock Stadium. With quarterback Brad Kayaa entering the NFL Draft a year early, there will be stiff competition for the coveted starting QB position at the U. Veteran backup Malik Rosier and heralded redshirt freshman Jack Allison along with spring enrollee Cade Weldon are among the players competing for the spot. Standout skill players returning include Freshman All-American WR Ahmmon Richards and thousand yard rusher RB Mark Walton. The defense returns most of the 2 deep on a nasty front 7 that should be even scarier in Year 2 under Defensive Coordinator Manny Diaz. The one question mark on defense is the secondary as most of the starters have graduated and spring practice will be a great time to gauge who might start in the fall. Increased expectations have Miami fans clamoring for the season to start and hopefully win the coastal division in the ACC to play in their first ACC Championship.
