KANSAS CITY, Mo. — What a great end to what was billed as an outstanding night of basketball. The 13th ranked University of Utah Utes traveled to face the 10th ranked University of Kansas Jay hawks. The Utes won the tip and Delon Wright went to work helping his team gain a 12-6 lead.
The Jay hawks called a much needed timeout where the coach must have told them something because coming out of the time out, both Wayne Seldon Jr. and Perry Ellis hit 3 pointers tying the score 12 -12. Kansas found some rhythm and were up 39-21 at the half.
The second half was a different story. The Utes started playing on both ends of the court and clawed back to tie the score 53-53.Brandon Taylor, Dallin Bachynski and Delon Wright played their hearts out during the comeback.
Ultimately, the game came down to free throws. The Jay hawks average a 91% on 21-23 shooting.
