Is this the year the Bull Dawgs take the crown?

Story By Toby Scott

SEC 2017 Media Day.

Well sports fan you know I was born in Savannah Ga,  so you know I am very familiar with the University of Georgia football program.  Growing  up being a Bulldawg is definitely on your mind. This year expectation of the team is pretty much go undefeated and win the championship in Atlanta 2018.

The team is coming off a 8-5 year where it seems they just did not know how to win the close ones. They lost to Tennessee by 3 points and both Vanderbilt and Georgia Tech by 1 point. Enough about that because that was last year and this is “Georgia Year”. With Sony Michel and Nick Chubb coming back for another year all I can think is who has a defense that can stop them if they both healthy?  Head coach Kirby Smart stated,  “Certainly happy to have those rushers back, but we have to create space for those guys and run the ball better, be more productive so we can open up the passing game.” Wow that is great new for anyone that loves the Red and Black. Another question on many fans minds will be how do they plan on dealing with all the hype? “The attitude is the standard is held high. Nick and I are seniors so we have been down this road before. This is not our first rodeo so we just have to take what comes with it, embrace it, and take it to the team and lead. This is our chance to try to lead our team and lead them to something great”, stated Sony Michel. The Road the championship is going to be rough but by November 1st we will know if Georgia will have a chance to go to the championship to play or watch.

On the Defensive side of the ball last years team pretty much keep the game in reach. This year team has to be dominant week in and week out. For that to happen the team will be relying on linebackers Roquan Smith , Lorenzo Carter  and Davin Bellamy.  Roquan Smith stated, “It definitely means a lot having guys like that coming back, it gives us the opportunity to
actually go to the next level. Them actually choosing to come back gives us a chance to compete for a championship, they pretty much know that the defensive is going to be really
good this year, it means a lot to everyone coming back.” All these guy played high school ball  within 2 hours of Atlanta so this would be really special  for them to bring one home in front of family. The 1st test is to win the SEC East which is alot better then most years and then face the winner of the SEC West. Go Dawgs!!
