ORANGEBURG – De’Angelo Henderson and Alex Ross have record setting day in an easy 41-14 win over South Carolina State.
#1 Coastal Carolina seems to be doing everything right on both sides of the ball. In the first quarter Alex Ross connected with John Isreal for two touchdowns. (32 yards, 33 yards) De’Angelo Henderson added another score on the ground. The Chanticleers were up 22-0 after the first quarter. The second quarter was no better for the Bulldogs as Ryan Granger added 3 points on a 27 yard field goal with 9:01 left to play in the half. The next score for Coastal Carolina came when Osharamar Abercrombie sprinted 58 yards for the TD.
The Defense played lights out! South Carolina State only managed 69 yards of offense in the first half. They also were not able to convert a first down for the first quarter.
Alex Ross picked up another touchdown on a 15 yard run to cap the 42 yard drive and extend the lead to 41-0. The Bulldogs were able to get on the board when Caleb York connected with Hemingway. The last score came when Caleb used his feet for the 1 yard score. At this point the game was out of reach but it showed they can fight to the end.
