The University of South Florida Bulls are 3-0 and starting to make moves under Charlie Strong. This is the first year in program history where the expectations are not to take a loss to anyone on the schedule. Quinton Flowers is leading the Bulls to deliver on those lofty goals. Helping him complete those lofty goals are Marquez Valdes-Scantling the deep threat from St. Petersburg Florida and DeAngelo Antoine from Orlando Florida. Antoine made his presence felt against Illinois defenses where he scored more than once.
Flowers can beat you with his arms, legs, and he is a smart player as well. He is not the tallest but if Russell Wilson has a Super Bowl Ring then this kid needs an NFL shot. Currently Flowers is rewriting the USF record books and he has a team that trusts in him fully. The defense will need to get better and that is what Charlie Strong is here for. If the Bulls can limit their penalties and gang tackle than playing in a New Year’s Day Bowl seems very realistic. The South Florida Defense will have many opportunities to prove themselves as NFL prospects because of their high scoring offense. Many teams will be forced to abandon the run which gives them more reps to get better. How far will the Bulls go may come right down to “The Battle of I-4. The rival Central Florida is among the top schools in the county offensively with Scott Frost. Well this is just another chapter in the life of Floridians and the Bulls are trying to bring the bacon home, however the Knights of Central Florida happen to loom in the horizon and may try to steal what could be the Programs best run in it’s short history. However Mr. Flowers is here for a reason and the nation will find out soon enough. (Story by Antwan Jackson)
