Winner goes to the Advocare-Invitational championship set for Sunday 9:30 PM ET at the Wide World of Sports. We have UCF coming off a 68 -59 win over Nebraska. The keys to their win was Tacko Fall and Ceasar DeJesus guiding the team to a 36 to 20 half time lead. Neither teams shot well. Nebraska was 21 of 61 from the field. UCF was 14 of 25 from the line. The Knights did get 23 points from the bench as a positive in the game.
West Virginia is coming off a 84-78 win over Marist. Jevon Carter and David Knudsen were the leading scorers on their teams but overall shooting neither team did well. West Virginia needs to abandon shooting 3 pointers. 8 of 38 will not cut it at any level. They would have loss the game if it was not for those 2nd chance points. We all pray this game is better.
The game started with Tacko Fall and Ceasar DeJesus helping the Knights jump out to a 6-2 lead and that is where it got ugly. They should have put 2 people on West Virginia’s James Bolden. He put on a show. 4 of 8 from the 3 point line, 3 rebounds and 2 steals in the 1st half. The Knights perfect record was definitely in jeopardy going in 43-20 at the half.
The 2nd half was all West Virginia. This game got really ugly. Final score was 83-45. The Mountaineers had 4 guys in double digits.
James Bolden (17) , Jevon Carter (16) ,Dexter Miles Jr. (14) and Sagaba Konate (14)
I would say the game ball goes to Sagaba Konate 14 trending in the right ways (points), 9 this ball belongs to me (rebounds) , 6 get that weak shot out of here (blocks) and 1 give me that ball (steals).
